Heo Woong, 30, of professional basketball’s Jeonju KCC안전놀이터, and Kim Hee-jin, 32, of women’s professional volleyball’s IBK, continued their “Yanggang regime.

Heo won the top spot in the 47th (week of May 3) Star Ranking Star Sports poll, which was conducted by Star News for a week from 3:01 p.m. on May 18 to 3:00 p.m. on May 25, with 11,199 votes. He hasn’t lost the lead since the sports category was added to Star Ranking on June 30 last year.

Kim Hee-jin was not far behind. She took second place with 13,357 votes. The gap between her and Heo is 942 votes.

In third place is professional baseball pitcher Yang Hyun-jong, 34, of KIA with 733 votes. Women’s professional volleyball veterans Yang Hyo-jin (34-Hyundai E&C) and Kim Yeon-kyung (35-Hungkuk Life) followed with 453 and 189 votes, respectively. Heo’s younger brother, Heo Hoon (28), who plays for the Sangmu Basketball Team, came in sixth with 173 votes.

The Star Ranking, which features 20 of the most popular and skilled active sports stars in each sport, is determined by fans voting for their favorite stars directly through the Star News website. Depending on their ranking, the stars will receive various privileges.

Voting for the 48th edition of StarRanking StarSport (week of May 4) will be open from 3:01 p.m. on May 25 to 3:00 p.m. on June 1.
