Munich, 1-2 come-from-behind defeat to Leverkusen… BVB failed to pursue 1st place and maintained 2nd place

 Bayern Munich handed over the top spot to Borussia Dortmund.

Bayern Munich faced Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the 25th round of the Bundesliga in the 2022-2023 season held at Bay Arena in Leverkusen, Germany on the 20th at 1:30 am (Korean time) and lost 1-2. 

Munich, which failed to gain points, stayed in second place with 52 points (15 wins, 7 draws, 3 losses), one point behind first place Borussia Dortmund (53 points). On the other hand, Leverkusen are in 8th place with 37 points.

The away team Munich took out a 3-4-1-2 formation. Sadio Mane-Thomas Müller was in the front line and Leroy Sane was in the second line of attack. Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich form the midfield, with Alfonso Davies and João Cancelo as both wing-backs. Matthias De Ligt, Dayot Upamecano and Benjamin Pavard made up the back three. The goalkeeper was Jan Sommer.

The home team, Leverkusen, came out with a 4-3-3 formation. Amin Adli, Florian Birz, and Moussa Diaby form the attacking lineup, while Kerem Demirbay, Robert Andrich, and Ezekiel Palacios form the midfield. Piero Inkapier, Edmond Tapsova, Odilong Cosunou and Jeremy Frimpong formed the back four, and Lukash Hradecki defended the goal.

The opening goal was scored by Munich. In the 22nd minute of the first half, a cross from the right flank headed for Goretzka in the box, and Goretzka passed to Kimmich. Kimmich hit the shot and shook the net.

The first half ended with Munich leading 1-0.

At the start of the second half, Munich called Cancelo먹튀검증, Mane, and Müller to the bench and put in Serge Gnabry, Kingsley Coman, and Jamal Musiala.

Leverkusen had a great chance in the 8th minute of the second half. As Adli penetrated into the box, Pavar committed a foul and the referee declared a penalty kick after a video review (VAR). Palacios, who started as a kicker, managed to score by completely fooling Sommer.

Munich tried to score again. In the 23rd minute of the second half, Musiala, who had bypassed three defenders and exchanged the ball with Gnabri, fired a left-footed shot from inside the box, but the ball slightly missed the goal.

In the 26th minute of the second half, Leverkusen again won a penalty kick. Upamecano attempted a sliding tackle as Adli broke through into the box, but he failed to touch the ball and only tripped Adli. Again, the referee declared a penalty kick after VAR. Palacios, who started again as a kicker, split the shot and net in the same course as the first penalty kick.

In the second half of extra time, Munich had a great chance. Komang, who caught the ball from the right side, raised the cross as it was, and De Licht, who was waiting in the box, connected it with a powerful header, but it slightly missed the goal.
